When Friends Drift Apart & Friendship Ends...

...what do you do?

Have you ever been pushed aside by someone you thought was a great friend? I know friends drift apart all the time, and it genuinely upsets me. I've drift away from friends in the past, and I guess it was both our faults for not keeping in contact somehow. But what do you do when you keep in contact with a friend, then they start ignoring you, pushing you away? It's not nice, I'll tell you that much.

I was one of the few people that this friend could trust, tell anything to. It was someone I told things to...we talked a lot, I was always there. I know I've never done/said a thing to hurt or upset them, I'm not like that...yet they're just ignoring me. I've tried to keep contact with this friend, but they ignore it. So I can safely say, I'm not to blame in this situation. I've asked for an explanation, which has also been ignored. I have seriously tried, time and time again, to talk to this friend, yet it goes unnoticed. I'm done.

It's quite sad, because I don't have many friends. So the friends that I do have, I tend to hold them close to my heart and always be there for them. I know I'm a good friend.

My question is...how do you know when a friendship is actually over? How long should you try to salvage the friendship? There's only so much you can do, but when is enough? A month? A year? You could say we've both changed, which is true, but we only talked normally maybe a two months ago. I still care for and I still love this friend to bits, but I'm not sure where to go from here. One thing's for sure though...

"False friends are worse than open enemies"

What do you do when a friendship ends?

Nails | Models Own 'Bubblegum'

I was doing a little retail therapy online the other day, and I came across the most GORGEOUS pink I've ever seen. It's by Models Own, and it's called Bubblegum. It's a beautiful vibrant neon pink, and no matter how many pictures I took, the camera still wouldn't pick up the colours, but the pictures I took are as close as I can get. Trust me when I say, it's amazing!

Even the Models Own website doesn't match exactly, but it's an absolutely gorgeous colour.
It compliments my tan really well, and looks amazing against dark clothing for a pop of colour!

Two coats of Bubblegum by Models Own

I'm slightly annoyed that the pictures don't match the polish perfectly, but I'm in loooove with it! It's definitely going to be my (rest of) Summer nail colour!

I can't comment on the longevity just yet (I only got it in the post this morning) but from my experience, Models Own polishes are hard wearing and last ages! And as usual, I'm loving the bottle! I find the nail polish packaging sleek and chic, and who doesn't like that?

I bought Bubblegum for €7 from Littlewoodsireland, with free delivery. I'm sure it's around the same price in Boots. If you're in the UK, it's £5 on the Models Own website and in Boots.

Review | Avon MagiX Face Perfector (SPF20)

I had wanted this for a while as my I tried sister-in-law's, and I liked it.
It was priced at around €13.50 in the Avon catalogue, so I waited until it came down in price. I wasn't waiting long as it was soon half price!

It's a face perfector/primer, which is supposed to eliminate shine and help your foundation stay on longer. It also claims to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores. The white gel formula feels really soft on my skin, and dries quickly. I find that, when it dries, it has a slight powder feel to it, but it feels really nice.

I don't use a lot, just a dab on my forehead, cheeks and nose. I always moisturise before I use it as I have dry skin. I have to be careful with some products as they cling to dry patches, but this doesn't. Shine is eliminated, which is always a plus.

As for helping foundation to last longer, I find it does! And on our rare hot sunny days here in Ireland, my make-up stays and doesn't melt away.

I have some enlarged pores around my nose, and this reduces them a lot, I love it!

The product also contains SPF20, so I wore it to the beach the other day to test it out...and my face didn't burn at all (even if my arms did a little!) I love the smell, and I know that some people don't but I do.
As for the price, I guess it depends on where you live. I know on www.ebay.com you can get it for as little as $6, so shop around.

It's a little miracle worker, and I would highly recommend it...I will repurchase!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeek. I'm in love with them!

I bought these gorgeous peep toe wedges on ASOS, and they were reduced from over €55, to less than €17...AMAZING! They're still on offer so get them while you sill can. They're the most comfortable wedges/heeled shoes I've ever owned. And I own a lot.
The wedge itself is rainbow print, and the beautiful grosgrain ribbon ties up your calf.

Review | St Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse (pics, tips) ❤

The first time I bought this fake tan, I wasn't expecting a lot. After all, it's only around £2.99 a bottle from Primark, making it one of the cheapest tans out there. However, this is my THIRD bottle (and I've had it ages!)...so I think it's safe to say that I love it! It gives a gorgeous golden tan, no streaks, no fuss.

I've tried quite a few fake tans; Piz Buin, Sally Hansen, Garnier and St Tropez. But St Moriz wins, hands down! It's been compared to St Tropez many times, and it's said to be the 'cheaper version'. St Tropez retails for a whopping £30 a bottle, whereas St Moriz is less than £3. Total bargain!

Yesterday, it rained non-stop ALL DAY, so I thought I'd bring Summer to myself, and do my tan!

******

Before I tanned, I showered and shaved my underarms and legs, exfoliated gently, and applied a gorgeous body butter, paying particular attention to my knees, elbows, ankles and areas where I have psoriasis (usually upper arm). After an hour of allowing the body butter to sink in properly, I applied my tan using a tan mitt for my body, and a make-up sponge for my face.

Before: My leg

Before: My arm

My leg, TWO minutes after application

******

After applying the tan, you must wait 4-6 hours before showering. I waited 6 hours and showered at almost 3am, dried my hair and fell into bed. I couldn't really have a proper look at the tan as there wasn't natural light at 3am...haha

******

And the final results, this morning.

After: My leg

After: My leg

After: My arm

 After: My legs

 After: My arm

******

Application: goes on to the skin so smoothly, blends like a dream! So easy to apply, even over knees and elbows. The pump applicator is brilliant; 1-2 pumps is enough for each arm. ONE pump for your face should suffice.
Colour: gives a gorgeous golden tan with no streaks, tan looks natural, even as it fades.
Scent: like most fake tans, it has a slight biscuit smell, but that really doesn't bother me.
Longevity: I find my tan lasts around 3-5 days then starts to fade evenly.

Some little tips:
If you want a darker tan, you can reapply in 3 days.
If you want a 'mid' tan, reapply in 5 days.

❤ If you have blonde/light hair, you may want to apply a THIN layer of Vaseline along the hairline (this is optional.) If you have dark hair, you don't need to worry about this step.

❤ If you suffer from eczema/psoriasis/other dry skin conditions, pay particular attention, when moisturising, to the affected areas. If your skin is dry, the tan may cling to the dry patches, making it look patchy. Moisturise WELL!

❤ After applying tan, stay naked (ooooh!) for as long as possible, to give the tan time to dry properly.

In the days after tanning, when you shower, exfoliate very gently and afterwards, use a body oil/body butter to help maintain the tan for longer. Some people choose to use a gradual tan moisturiser to keep the tan for much longer.

❤ If you don't like the 'biscuit' smell, you can apply a scented moisturiser.

******

Overall, I LOVE this tan. I'm going to do my tan more often; it gives me so much more confidence and makes me happier, and who doesn't want that? :)

If you haven't tried this tan yet, you should get your hands on it and soon! It's so amazing, and at that price, how can you say no? No sun damage, perfect tan and cheap as chips! Gorgeous, even colour and confidence for £2.99? YES, PLEASE!

Dupe of the Day #3: MAC 217 blending brush

_________________________________________________________________________________

I remember the day I bought my MAC 217 blending brush...wow, was I excited! I think I paid €17 for it, which was steep, but it's MAC so it's to be expected.
However...I have found a dupe! I bought this brush set on eBay months ago, and I love it. When I paid for it, it was on sale. That meant it was less than €2 (free p&p), so I bought a couple of sets.
I've bought three sets in total, but at the start, I wasn't expecting much from such cheap brushes. But they blew me away; the quality, how they worked...they haven't shed at all, they're not scratchy, and they WORK.

******

First of all, here is my MAC 217 (writing's totally faded!)...

 Here's the dupe...

And together...

I actually can't believe how great the cheap brush is. It does exactly the same as the MAC 217, but the brush head is slightly bigger, which I think is better. The only 'bad' thing (which isn't even bad), is that the dupe has a smaller handle than the MAC. It's still very easy to control and hold, but some people may prefer the longer handle. It doesn't bother me though. It blends easily and doesn't collect colour at all. PLUS, it doesn't shed! I'm going to buy more sets to build up my brush collection a bit, because I don't have that many brushes.

The whole (amazing) brush set is a fraction of the cost of one MAC brush. Some people will be happier with the MAC brush (maybe because it's the most expensive) but honestly, I'd choose the cheaper version. It's seriously amazing, I can't even tell you how much I love it.

Random Photo Tag

I came across this post on another blog. I wasn't tagged, but I wanted to do it anyway!

Go to the fourth file in your pictures, then the fourth image. Explain the image.

Here's mine...

Webcam picture! I had just painted my nails as mushrooms from Super Mario. I think this is definitely one of my favourite nails art designs! I've done it a couple of times since. Love it, so bright & colourful.

Dyeing My Little Brother's Hair Blue

When I had my hair blue, my little brother Russell (15), loved it. I promised him that I would dye his hair blue when he was on his Summer holidays from school...so I did!

This is my hair when it was blue...

******

The products we used were:
Jerome Russell BBlonde Hair Lightener (permanent) - best bleach ever!
LaRiche Directions Hair Colour in Atlantic Blue (semi-permanent)

Excuse the crap pictures, they were all taken at night, except the last one!

 Before...a medium brown

After the bleach...he looked like Eminem! Notice the teeny bit of brown that didn't get any bleach on it, hahaha!

With the blue dye on his hair

 After...at night, no flash

The next day in natural light, no flash. Amazing! :)

He's thrilled with it, heehee.

Review | 'Balance Me' Wonder Eye Cream

 'Balance Me' Wonder Eye Cream

This little 7ml tube (worth £11) came free with Glamour magazine, and I was keen to try it. I love the packaging, it's so simple and easy to just throw in your bag or for travelling. I had never heard of Balance Me, but I done my research and found that it's all natural, and paraben and sulphate free.

The Balance Me website, says:

Our three-in-one naturally active eye cream is rich but not heavy and absorbs beautifully. We’ve blended Roman chamomile and skin-brightening lemon, cucumber oil and witch hazel with super hydrating hyaluronic acid, anti-oxidant spruce knot, softening and smoothing virgin coconut, rosehip and carrot oils, all to help brighten and smooth the delicate skin around your eyes.
Lightly pat and smooth around the eye area twice daily after applying our moisture-rich face cream or balancing fluid moisturiser.

******

I say:

This product is fantastic! I've been using it since the day I got it (over a week ago). It smells good, and you only need a tiny bit of cream for each eye. I have a couple of fine lines under my eyes, and this has helped to reduce them. I have dark circles too and this has definitely helped to lighten them, yay! I've been using it in the morning and at night, for over a week now and it's working already, which is amazing! Hopefully the longer I use it, the more youthful I'll look ;)

The 7ml tube is worth £11, and a 10ml tube retails for £14. It's worth it, and I will repurchase if I can get my hands on it. Definitely recommended, and I think it's one of Glamour's best freebies yet!

Free gift with Glamour magazine

I went out to buy Glamour (over a week ago), and I was pleased to see that it came with a little free gift.

There was a choice of FOUR products, all by 'Balance Me', a natural skincare brand.
- Pure Skin Face Wash (worth £11)
- Wonder Eye Cream (worth £11)
- Balancing Face Moisturiser (worth £11)
- Rose Otto Intensive Lip Salve (worth £12)

Worth a whopping £45 in total! I chose the Wonder Eye Cream, as I have loads of lip balms, moisturises and face washes! I only have one other under eye cream, so I was keen to try this.

Review coming soon...

Product Empties #1

I love when I use a product up; I have a lot of half-full (and new!) products in my bathroom, so it's quite a relief when I use one up. I was sorting through everything the other day, and I really do have a lot. I am now on a spending ban until I use up some of the products I have...which will take a while!
Heehee.

Products I've used up:

Boots Simply Sensitive Cleansing Lotion (was £2.79, now £1.39)
Removes all traces of face make-up, and leaves my skin feeling fresh, cleansed and refreshed. Brilliant for my dry, sensitive skin too, and an amazing price too.

Johnson's Daily Essentials 24hour Moisturising Day Cream - dry skin (£4.07)
This moisturiser was my favourite for so long (until I found my current one...then I used both, switching between). I went through 3 or 4 tubs of this. It's amazing, and one tub lasts for ages. I used it ten minutes before I applied my makeup, as a base. It didn't feel greasy or heavy on my skin either.

TRESemme Thermal Recovery Conditioner (£4.05)
Possibly the best conditioner I've ever used...and I've used a lot! It smells amazing, lasts for ages and leave my hair feeling silky, soft and really easy to manage and style. I really need to repurchase this, it's worth every penny/cent!

Gorgeous by Gok [Wan] body wash (part of a set)
Absolutely gorgeous! Leaves a lingering scent on my skin, which I can't even describe. The only word I CAN use to describe it is...heavenly! It's simply gorgeous and so soft on my skin. After using it, my skin feels silky and, as the name suggests, gorgeous!

Impulse True Love body fragrance (was £1.99, now £0.99)
Yum, yum, yummmmmm!

Simple Kind To Eyes eye make-up remover (£3.39)
Removes all eye make-up so easily, even waterproof mascara. Doesn't hurt or sting if it comes in contact with your eyeball (which is always the case with me!)

Boots Smooth Care Facial Wax Strips (£4.49)
I think all of us girls are prone to a little hair on the upper lip...I know I am! Once a month, I use these strips on my upper lip, and between my brows. All hairs are removed, it's not painful at all, and results last ages! To heat up the wax, I just blow my hairdryer on the strip for a few seconds. Much better/easier than rubbing the strip between your palms!
