My Christmas (& Boxing Day!)

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! Mine was brilliant, and I absolutely loved spending it with all the in-laws. We woke up at around 9.30am, and had a little bit of a fry-up before chilling for a few hours. After our yummy Christmas dinner, we headed next door to my sister-in-law's house to swap our Secret Santa presents with the whole family. We were so thrilled with what we got, it was everything we wanted...a slow cooker, a cute storage tower, king-size bed sheets, hand mixer and a toolkit for the house! We had a lovely day, the drinks were flowing and there was enough food to feed a country!

The cats had their own little white tree with colourful baubles, glitter candy canes, a hot pink reindeer and a CAT decoration on top of the tree. My 'Live The Life You Love' canvas is from Primark a few weeks ago...I love it, and just put some silver tinsel around it. My mother-in-law made us a beautiful wreath..the first one we've had yet! I got Elijah (my fiancé) a little joke present...it's hilarious! My outfit for Christmas day was simple...fitted bootcut jeans, a black top with sequins, black blazer and cute wedge boots. Christmas dinner was amazing...there was so much left over, we were fed for the next few days hahaha!

I love my Christmas dinner swimming in gravy..so so good! Prince and Jess loved their little cat treats...they've been so good! My advent calendar ended on Christmas eve, but I didn't eat it until Christmas day. I'd love one for every day of the year ;) I took a pointless snap of 4pm on Christmas day. Hey, at least we survived Doomsday...hahaha. Have a look at some of the drink and empty bottles...good grief, we drank a lot..

And of course, it rained all of Christmas day. We didn't expect anything else living in Ireland. We had a gorgeous chocolate and cream cake for after dinner, but we were so stuffed, it wasn't opened until Boxing day. I love my tree, and as much as I love Christmas, I'm ready to take the tree and decorations down for another year...some of the fairy lights can stay up, they're too pretty!

As for Boxing day...we had food left over from Christmas day and got ready for our night out. The men took a whole 5 minutes to get ready, but the ladies on the other hand...curling hair, dressing up (I changed at the last minute), applying make-up and lashes. Of course, we took ages! We headed out around 8.30pm, and had a blast! One of the best nights out in a long time! :) Pictures haven't been uploaded yet (eeek!) but I got one on my phone of myself and one of my sister-in-laws...she's on the left, so obviously I'm on the right. ;) Look at my chubby hamster cheeks lol...

The following day, we were dying with hangovers and mine took 36 hours to go away...seriously!! I hope you've all had a really lovely cosy Christmas, and have a very happy new year. Here's to 2013!

Nope...we're not really religious so...

26 Day Christmas Challenge ♥ Day 23

Day 23: Ham or turkey?

Ham, ham, ham, ham and ham. Turkey is too dry and chewy...or maybe that's just me haha. Although it does look tasty, but it's just not for me! :)

New Favourite Song...

James Arthur - Impossible

I am absolutely head over heels in love with James' version of this song...and James himself! I mean, literally since yesterday, I must have listened to the song over 50 times. It's so addictive and gives me goose-bumps.  I think he's been the best winner of X-Factor yet...he can sing to me any day ;)

Review & Pictures | Essence 'Hello Holo' glitter nail polish

I've seriously wanted this for ages, and every time i went to get it, it wasn't there! I fiiiinally came across it in Primark/Penneys the other day and couldn't wait to use it. It cost around €2.29...

How pretty is this?! I've had to take almost all of the pictures OUT of focus (sorry!), so it picks up the full holographic effect. I used the polish over a silver polish (Your Majesty by Rimmel). I used one coat of the silver, and THREE coats of the glitter polish to get the full effect of all the glitter. It dries really fast, which is a great thing if you're going on a night out.

I've had it on for 4-5 days now and it's just every so slightly beginning to chip...and that's without a topcoat. I'm loving it so far! I think it's fabulous for the price, and most people will know that I'm a sucker for Essence polishes. They're amazing, there's loads of colours to choose from, they're long lasting and cheap. The pictures really don't do the polish justice, I promise! The light catches every single sparkle, I honestly can't tell you how beautiful it is...it's like a rainbow on every nail!

I really want to wear a red polish for Christmas...so I might try a couple of coats of this over the top to see how it looks. Red nails + sparkle = perfect for Christmas!

I would highly recommend this nail polish to you if you love a bit of sparkle on your nails, or even if you just want to add something different to your nail polish collection. I can't tell you how beautiful it is or how much I love it!

Cheap, long lasting and beautiful...perfect!

Funny tweets!

I'm a Twitter addict and every day, I'm guaranteed a few giggles. I randomly decided to do a little post with some of the funny tweets I've read over the past few days. Maybe I'll make it a regular feature on my blog for all the other Twitterholics out there ;)

26 Day Christmas Challenge ♥ Day 21

Day 21:  What kind of tree you have: fake or real? If real, what type?

I answered a question like this already...we have a fake tree! Love the tree in the pic!

26 Day Christmas Challenge ♥ Day 20

Day 20: What colour ornaments do you put on your tree?

Normally I love every colour decoration...but since we've gone more 'sophisticated' with the tree this year, we've opted for mainly red and silver, with a little bit of gold and a touch of pink...and a teeny tiny dash of black, hahaha :)

26 Day Christmas Challenge ♥ Day 19

Day 19: If you were an elf, what would your name be?

Hmm, I've never really thought about this...but I think I'll just say JoJo, as it's my most popular nickname hahaha :)

This & that - Santa dress, food and presents!

This past few weeks have been chaotic! College work has just been rolling in like there's no tomorrow. Seriously, and we still got loads to do over Christmas, grr! It's not all bad though, as we had our class night out on Saturday, and I wore my Santa dress...it's quite short so I wore tights, and it's also very tight around the top because of my chest! Excuse the face and pose, I wasn't ready when mine friend snapped the picture! And I'd had a few glasses before we headed out, hahahha..

Most of the people in our class couldn't make the night out, so we all went for lunch yesterday as a celebration for handing up our final assignment of 2012, ahh!! We had booked a table for all of us, and since yesterday morning, we were all starving and couldn't wait to get there. The food was so worth waiting for...yummy! And the real chips (or fries, for all my American readers) with the skins still on...oh, and look at the little bucket they come in. So cute!

We've finished all of our Christmas shopping, and we've got most of the wrapping done. This year has been the easiest for buying presents, because we took part in Secret Santa with my fiancé's family, so there wasn't really much to buy. This is a couple of the presents we've have wrapped so far...and some of them are little things I bought for the fiancé! :) The present with the Hello Kitty wrapping paper is for me from one of my amazing brothers. So excited!

That's just been a couple of little things that have been going on in the past couple of weeks with me...mostly college work, boo! Glad I have my Christmas holidays now though... :)

I hope you're all doing well

26 Day Christmas Challenge ♥ Day 18

Day 18: Which lights are better: white or coloured and blinking or still?

I think it depends on the mood, and the Christmas tree! Our tree used to be really colourful, and with coloured lights. This year, we've gone more sophisticated with less colours, less decorations and white lights. I do miss the coloured lights, but I love our tree! Plus, we've got coloured lights in the kitchen, and blinking white lights upstairs and downstairs :)

26 Day Christmas Challenge ♥ Day 17

Day 17: Have you ever been to a Christmas parade?

No I actually haven't, but it sounds like a lot of fun! Someone should take me to one... ;)

26 Day Christmas Challenge ♥ Day 16

Day 16: When did you find out Santa wasn't real?

Absolutely LOVE the picture in this post! I was around 10 or 11 (pretty old huh?!) and I was woken up from my sleep by noises downstairs. I went to check it out and I saw my parents carrying my bike into the house. I asked my brother what was going on, and he told me that part of the pedal on my bike had come off in the shop and my parents had to travel 30 miles to get it!

26 Day Christmas Challenge ♥ Day 15

Day 15: Have you started Christmas shopping yet?

Mhmm, just finished :) I think this is the earliest I've ever been finished, maybe because we did Secret Santa though... ;)

26 Day Christmas Challenge ♥ Day 14

Day 14: How many Christmas cards do you usually send out?

I think somewhere between 12 and 15...and I've come to the conclusion that stamps are not cheap!!!

26 Day Christmas Challenge ♥ Day 13

Day 13: Have you ever had a white Christmas? If yes, do you ever want to have Christmas without snow and vice versa?

We've had a few white Christmases, and honestly, they're my absolute favourite! I feel like it really enhances the Christmas mood and makes everything look better...plus it always cheers me right up. I just love wrapping up well, going for a walk with my camera and taking loads of beautiful pictures. I'm really hoping it snows this year!!

26 Day Christmas Challenge ♥ Day 12

Day 12: Do you take part in Secret Santa?

For the first time ever, my fiancé's family did Secret Santa...it was a nightmare, so I think next year, it'll be back to buying Christmas presents like normal again, hahaha!

26 Day Christmas Challenge ♥ Day 11

Day 11: What kind of Christmas tree do you have?

I presume this means fake or real..? We have a fake tree with acorns, berries and frost/snowy stuff on it. Pic above is my tree :)
