BaByliss Curling Wand (2285U) - REVIEW & pictures

I picked this up just before my birthday, as I had wanted one for AGES! I got it in Boots, while it was on sale for €21.99, instead of €33.99.

Model 2285U

This is what the wand looks like...

You can choose from 4 different heat settings, ranging from 155° to 200°. You simply press the 'I/O' (on) button, then press the + button to go to a higher temperature. If you wish to lower the temperature again, press the - button.

The curler comes with a really handy heat protector glove, which is awesome. You don't burn yourself, and that's always a bonus!

However, the first time I curled my hair with the curler and glove, I got my hair done fine. I took the glove off, then realised I had one little section not curled. I didn't put the glove back on when I curled that section, and typically, I burnt my finger! I think it shows how important and handy the glove is! I even use it now when I straighten my hair.

Before I curl my hair, I section it into small sections (the smaller the section, the tighter the curl. If the section is bigger, the curl will be looser and more wavy.) I'm right-handed so I hold the curler in my right hand and wear the glove on my left hand. Then, I hold the curler behind my head and wrap a section of hair around the curling wand. I hold for around 7 seconds and slowly remove the curler from my hair.

I'm left with beautiful flowing curls!

I curled my extensions to show you how it looks.

Beautiful, right? Look at the little curl on the right!!

And these are my curled extensions in my hair...

I absolutely adore this hair curler, it's amazing! My hair without extensions is down to my shoulders, and I still find it easy to curl it. My curls last all day, and even the next day, I'm left with beautiful loose waves. I would definitely recommend this curling wand to anybody. I would have paid the full price for it, but the fact that I got it on sale, was even better!

11 Questions Tag (again!)

I was tagged by the beautiful Rachel, over at Life of a Sweetaholic. Again, as I've done this tag already, I will just answer the questions!

Questions from Rachel

1. What is your favourite clothing store?

There are a few, New Look, Primark, Swamp...but my favourite is definitely Primark/Penneys. Mainly because it's so cheap and affordable, and I think the sizes are good fittings.

2. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?

This is tough, because Elijah and myself are always talking about where we'd like to go. But I think ONE of the paces I want to go is New York...shopping! Maybe if I win the lotto!

3. If you won the lotto, what would you buy first?

Read previous answer! Hahaha! But first, I would buy my dream home.

4. What is your favourite nail varnish at the moment?

This changes quite often as I have so many to choose from...but right now, it's Risky Red by 17. Love it!

5. If you could be a celeb for the day who would you be?

Oh god. Hmm Paris Hilton just so I can go around and spend stupid amounts of money. And also to get pampered!

6. What is your favourite cocktail?

I don't usually drink cocktails, as I rarely go out. But I quite like Sangria, Tequila sunrise, Sex on the Beach and Daquiri. Yum!

7. What is your favourite pudding?

I don't eat pudding!

8. What trend are you looking forward to wearing this year?

I don't really follow trends, but I really want to experiment more with colourful eyeshadows and liners.

9. What did you always want to be when you were young?

Oh God, so many things! As I grew up a little more, I wanted to work in a creche or a primary school. Now, I'm not so sure.

10. Best thing about blogging?

It's a kind of therapy, so relaxing!

11. Current celeb crush?

Shane Filan, as always!

Thanks for tagging me, Rachel!

11 questions from Tiffeny

What has been the best day of your life?

I would say either the day I met my man in person, or the day he proposed to me. Both were amazing!

What is your favourite perfume ever?

It has to be Armani code. I can't even describe it, it's just delicious!

What are you scared of?

Spiders, daddy-long-legs, moths, butterflies (beautiful, but creepy!)

If you could have a special power for 24 hours, what would it be?

I think it would be pretty cool to be invisible!

Do you believe in angels?

Yes!

What qualities do you look for in a friend?

Someone's who's sweet, kind, caring, won't stab me in the back, and one that will be there for me.

If you could only use either eyeliner or mascara again, which would you pick?

This is hard as I LOVE both. I'd go for mascara though, it really opens my eyes.

Wow, okay I have loads! I think one would be when people turn the light on when I'm sleeping, and I wake up like o.O

Who are your favourite band?

Westlife, without a shadow of a doubt!

Do you drink alcohol?

On occasion. I rarely go out, but when I do, I like to enjoy myself.

Like, Love, Loathe #2

Like
Cute things. Cupcakes. Colours! I saw this out shopping recently, and how cute?! Pity it's only a single bed... I wanted to buy it for the spare room (single), so I could look at it. Hahahaha! But seriously, how gorgeous? Looks good enough to eat!

Love
Britney. Who doesn't love her? Well, okay, she's not everyone's cup of tea. But she's mine! I love this woman, like serious girl crush going on right now... I've seen her in concert before and she was AMAZING! I've said it before and I'll say it again, she's my idol, despite her ups and downs; she's only human.

Loathe
I hate cleaning with a passion. Myself and Elijah are looking for somewhere else at the moment, so that means when we have to move out, a lot of cleaning/scrubbing will have to be done. Grr, help me, please! Hahaha!

Back when I was a kid...

There's a hashtag on Twitter right now, currently trending, and it's called #BackWhenIWasAKid. It got me thinking of the toys I used to play with, and the 'toys' that kids have these days...

This is what I played with...
From top to bottom, left to right...
Stampers, Polly Pocket, Furby, Pogs, Tamagotchi, Connect 4.

All the good stuff!

When I was little, there were always kids out on the street, playing with dolls/prams, football, and little skateboards. These days, most kids have computer consoles, such as PlayStation 3, Xbox and the Wii. We have the Sega Megadrive, and it was very rare that you got to play that. A few games of Sonic a week and you were sorted. You'd have other stuff to keep you entertained, like I said, Furby, Pogs and keeping your Tamagotchi pet alive!

My favourite ever toy was my Polly Pocket Wonderful Wedding (exact same as pictured above!). I would spend hours making Polly walk down the aisle to the beautiful tune, which I'll always remember! It kept me entertained, but when I needed a break to play outside, I would be playing Connect 4 with my friends...we all took it in turns to play each other. We had bikes too, little skateboards. The street was always full of kids. A huge group of kids would sit around and play with their pogs and have a laugh. On rainy days, we would build forts with sheets and duvets, and play inside. Remember those days?

Nowadays, I see the odd child playing outside on a Twist scooter. Nothing like it used to be. When you see kids on the TV, they're usually on their computer consoles, and very rarely playing outside. It actually saddens me. Like, I know times change, but we had so much fun as kids...we were always outside, so active. Now, kids are active on the Wii. They will literally spend hours and hours on computer consoles. I know a couple of younger people with BlackBerry phones, aged around 11/12. It's crazy how much things have changed. I think a lot of parents should rethink their decisions on what 'toys' to get for their kids. No wonder so many kids these days are lazy.

What toys did you play with growing up? I miss those days.

Pancake Tuesday!

I hope you all had a lovely day and stuffed your face with pancakes...I did!

batter, pancake and my 'runt' pancake, hahaha!

Perfect pancake!

What I used....sugar, lemon and tiny dab of butter! Yum!

Tuxedo nail art deisgn

I saw a tutorial on this nail art design on YouTube (inspired by the beautiful Zooey Deschanel), and had to recreate it. It turned out better than I thought it would.

It's a white shirt with black tuxedo jacket, buttons and a bow-tie. The bow-tie was the hardest part, but I love the design! It looks so much better in person, too. I need new black polish, it started to go all lumpy on the bow-tie! :(

I hope you like it!

Parisian nail art design

I came up with this little design a few days ago and I've wanted to do it since. It's a little bit messy, I think nail wheels are harder to paint on than my actual nails!

with flash

In natural light... I accidentally put my finger on it after the first picture! Grr.

The blue, white and red represents the France flag, and the Eiffel Tower because it's in Paris...although, it just looks like an 'A' on the nail! I would do the flag design on all nails, but the Eiffel Tower (on white polish) on my ring fingers. I think it's a pretty design, so cute.

Giggle #2 - A shop called WHAT?!

This is an old Costcutter Express shop...but the letters seem to have gone a bit strange, hahaha! I took this in West Cork :)

Outfit of the Day

I actually took these almost 2 weeks ago in my brother-in-law's house when I went to visit, with my fiancé. I meant to upload it when I got home, but I completely forgot! The quality isn't the best, as it was taken on my BlackBerry, but it will do.

It's a super casual & comfortable outfit (almost the same as what I wore in my Valentine's post!), so here it is...

Top - Primark/Penneys
Jeggings - Primark/Penneys
Faux leather jacket - New Look
Necklace - Claire's Accessories
Uggs (real) - Schuh

(The necklace looks like it's got pink on it. It doesn't, its the reflection of my phone!)

I'm 99% sure this has been my first OOTD post, so I'm not sure if you will want to see more. Please let me know!

Giggle #1 - Conception Support for 12 year olds?

I'm starting this little thing where I'll post a picture of something that makes me giggle...something in my own home, or something I notice :)

I was looking at my Conception Support tablet pack this morning and this made me giggle.

It's a bit silly, seeing as the age of consent in the UK is 16, and in Ireland, it's 17...

It still made me giggle, though!
